Welcome to Greater Milwaukee El Sistema! Please provide us with the most up-to-date information available to assist us in delivering the best possible communication for you.

ALL of our communication is done via email or at the end of class. Updates are regularly posted on our Facebook page – please ‘like’ us if you are part of the Facebook community. Please check your student’s music folder regularly for flyers and information, it is essential that you stay involved.

Summer Program 

Summer Community Connection Program

What:  An opportunity for Service Learning through music.  Students will learn a program of Patriotic music to share with the community.  Students will have an opportunity to actively engage in service-learning opportunities that encourage building friendships with others.  Students will receive instruction and mentorship from certified teaching and program staff.

Where:  First United Methodist Church, 121 Wisconsin Avenue, Waukesha, 53186

When: Tuesdays AND Thursdays, June 14- July 14 from 1:00-3:00pm.

Lake Front Festival of Arts, Milwaukee, noon, on June 18th   

Waukesha Farmers Market July 9th 10:30-11 & 11:30-12

Avalon Square July 12th 1-3


Who:  Now accepting up to 30 students in grades 2 through 8 who currently perform with Greater Milwaukee El Sistema, or similar youth or school orchestra.  Our program currently serves students who play violin, viola or cello.

 Cost: Students must pay a registration fee of $35.00 which will include any music needed.

Instruments: Students not in El Sistema who do not own an instrument may borrow one for a twenty-dollar rental fee from Greater Milwaukee El Sistema for the duration of the summer program.  Rental contracts and instruments are provided through the generous support of the White House of Music. Instrument loans will be sized and handed out at 12:30 P.M. at First United Methodist Church on June 14th.  Parents must be present to sign instrument loan agreement.

*Transportation to and from rehearsals and events will be the responsibility of the parents.
