Welcome to Greater Milwaukee El Sistema where we are proud to offer children music instruction and service-learning opportunities! El Sistema was founded in Venezuela and its unique methods of teaching were brought here to create community through music in local schools in the greater Milwaukee area. Learn all about our affordable group music programs and how we transform the lives of children by introducing the joy of music into their daily lives. No child is ever turned away for financial need, all are welcome!
Changing Young Lives With Music
Since its founding in 2011, Greater Milwaukee El Sistema (GMES) serves elementary school students in the city of Waukesha and Greater Milwaukee Area. We are committed to providing safe, quality music education and opportunities to our students. Our students perform community concerts and represent us at various local festivals and events. In past years our students have had collaborative events with Sheltered Reality and community performances with the Wisconsin Philharmonic as well as workshops with Maestro Alexandro Platt. Our children and families meet monthly at our community partner site, First United Methodist Church, in Waukesha to share a free meal and complete community service projects or attend special monthly programming. We are proud to collaborate with other Waukesha Non-Profits like Adaptive Community Approach Program (ACAP) and Healing Hearts and to share the joy of music throughout our community.

The mission of Greater Milwaukee El Sistema (GMES) is to participate in the global movement to create community connection through affordable string music instruction for children.
